The Technology Policy Institute

In April 2009, Carly Fiorina was named Chair of TPI's Board of Directors. TPI is a Washington, D.C.-based think tank that focuses on the economics of innovation, technological change, and related regulation in the United States and around the world. The organization produces independent, rigorous research to advance knowledge and inform policymakers on major issues affecting information technology and communications policy.

In announcing her chairmanship, TPI President Thomas Lenard said, "Carly Fiorina is one of the most prominent technology leaders of the last decade. She has been a long-time champion of market-based innovation and consumer choice, and we are delighted that she has agreed to chair our board. Carly's mix of business, technology, and public policy experience on a global scale will add great value to TPI as we continue to grow."

Expressing her commitment to TPI, Carly Fiorina has underscored the need for the realms of policy, politics and business to converge with actionable ideas. "These are unprecedented times. Thoughtful and pragmatic technology policies can drive our economy forward, help us successfully address our nation's challenges in issues ranging from healthcare to education, and enhance America's competitiveness," said Carly Fiorina. "I am honored to join this talented team of professionals at a time when technology policy is at the front and center of our national agenda and when innovative policy thinking is so desperately needed. TPI has a well-deserved reputation for producing independent analysis and original, actionable ideas."
